Evony's Garden

[Lucee Carina Sinclair]

Lucee skips into the garden after the tense meeting called by Reast, to find Evony sitting on the ground with roses scattered around her. Evony appears to be making some sort of a crown out of roses, which peeks Lucee's interest. Quietly as not to disturb her, Lucee walks over and sits beside her. Evony's work fascinates Lucee, so she reaches out picking up a rose and brings it to her nose.

Lucee looks over to marvel at Evony's handiwork, then back to the rose in her hand. She tilts her head and looks up to Evony her brow furrowed, "How did you do that?"

Out of the corner of her eye, Winter caught Lucee skipping to the garden. With a moments contemplation and a lingering puff, Winter put out her cigarette on the sill of the porch. She proceeded to put the warm butt in her pocket, can't litter; global crisis and all.

Following the small girls trail, Winter entered the garden. Standing at the entrance, a good distance away from the two figures in the middle, she observed the situation. A woman making something out of roses, a situation which Winter would usually scoff and express distaste for the childish action. Though, this time she couldn't help but admire the woman's craftsmanship.

[Evony]

Evony was so focused on her roses that she didn't notice the quiet entrance of Lucee. Slightly spooked she looks up as she hears Lu's words slicing through her silent haven.

Once Evy realizes the intruder was just young Lu, she lets a warm smile spread across her face. "Hello, Lu." She looks down towards her now finished rose crown and then back at Lu with a rose in her hand. Evy's heart swells with admiration over the young girls' innocence. She doesn't know why she would like it here being surrounded by so many opposites.

With a genuine sigh she places the crown on her head and begins to craft a smaller one. "It' quite simple really. Its a simple weave motion. Would you like me to teach you?"

Too focused to notice Winter enter the room, Lucee grins as Evony addresses her. "Oh would you please? I love flowers, they're so pretty. My favorite flower is a Daisy, what's yours?" Lucee begins to open up to Evony, something about her seems very welcoming and friendly. Lucee can't quite put her finger on it, but with the lack of children around Evony seems the most fun.

Lucee beings to wonder if Re or Ape would like a flower crown. Her mind starts to wonder as it often does, but Lucee quickly regains her focus. You want people to take you seriously Lucee? She sets the rose down and watches Evony's hands, trying to mimic the motions in the air.

[Evony]

Evony smiles genuinely at Lucee as she begins to pick off the leaves and thorns of the roses stems. "First you must pick off the thorns and leaves, just to give the crown a more...elegant look." She then hands a few roses for her to finish picking.

Evy is able to sense Winter close by with her enhanced senses. She then continues to pluck the rose stems before she nonchalantly acknowledges Winter. "You know, standing there stalking isn't very welcoming."

Winter slowly makes her way over to the two girls, not really knowing how to address the situation. Lucee was the only person she had met before the meeting, and even then she didn't really know the girl.

Stopping in earshot of the two girls, she could hear their conversation. Winter felt she had no way to connect with the young girl, the 17 year old already had years of experience in drugs and gambling. Those aren't exactly childish activities. She debated offering a card game, but felt that a round of go-fish might be a bit too controversial. The older one, Evony, might question why she carried a card deck anyway.

Hearing Evony's comment, she began to speak. "I'm not stalking."

Lucee looks up startled by Winters entrance, but quickly grins up at her. "Well there you are silly. I saw you upstairs smoking," Lucee wrinkles her nose in slight disgust, "my mommy used to tell me it would make you sick." Lucee giggles shrugging her shoulders. Trying to ease the awkward tension between the two strangers she pats the grass next to her. "Why don't you join us Winter?"

[Evony]

Evony gaze shifts between the two people before she look back down to the crown she is crafting. She didn't understand why people were following into the Garden. This was supposed to be her get away, her safe haven but now all it seems to be is a gathering room.

Although Evy feared being alone in the world, its what she's used to, its what shes come to know. Being around so many other...misfits puts her on edge. She's torn between closing herself off and being on alert and letting herself become comfortable with the people around her. Everyone she's ever known has left her in the past, stabbed her in the back, no..broke her. Each person that left took a piece of her with her.

Evony loved deeply, cared, admired, and respected, but she also hated, despised, pushed people away. She was curious as to why a young girl and a druggie would want to slice through her safe haven and be in her company. She wanted to know why.

"Why have you both come to this Garden? Why follow me."

[Winter Glockenspiel]

Winter nods in understanding, "You're mother is right, you know." She proceeded to sit on the grass, lifting her skirt over her now crossed legs.

Turning her attention to Evony's question, she was caught of guard and took her tone as hostile. Winter automatically raised her guard to a snippy tone, replying "I was just following Lucee. Sorry for interrupting your flower-making", she scoffed, trying to contain her aggression.

She knew she was getting cranky, and took a breath trying to control it. She quickly stood up, lighting a cigeratte, standing out of winds way as to not get smoke in Lucee's face.

Lucee completely oblivious to the hostility in the air, looks up to Evony smiling while tilting her head, "You came to the garden, and I love flowers, and sunshine, and fresh air..." Lucee starts to trail off, her brow furrowing as she focuses on the flower crown.

She decides she will make Re and Ape a flower crown. Everyone seemed so upset lately, perhaps her act of kindness would cheer everyone up. Lucee loved to see people smile at her, especially Re and Ape. They felt like family to Lucee.

Lucee places her completed flower crown on her head grinning at Evony, before she skips off to find some soft while calla lilies for Ape and crimson red columbines for Re.

Evony shifted her gaze from Winter to Lu as she returns her smile. She felt bad for being the reason for the hostility in the room. She admired the young girls ability to be so oblivious to everything going around, she envied that about little Lu. After all, the saying 'Ignorance is bliss' didn't come about for no reason.

Evy swiftly hopped up onto her feet and walked over to the water, her foot steps light and elegant. With the help of Lucee, as she looked into the water and saw herself looking back at her, she realized that she didn't want this to go how every other encountered group went. She wanted to be friendly, she wanted to be different. And with that she left her safe haven.
